I have a old Marlin Model 1894 38/40 (made in 1895) that all it needs to shoot again is a firing pin. Anyone got any idea where I might find one? Richard

I'd try Marlin first 1-800-544-8892, some of there parts have restricted availability but the firing pin doesn't seem to have any such restriction. Give them model and serial number and they would likely just mail you the part.

I have had success in ordering parts from Brownell's for my 1894. They process orders very fast and they have a web site with all parts identified.

P.S. I am a SASS cowboy action shooter and was wondering what your old 1894 butt stock looks like. I have a model 1894 made in 1978 and it has the modern butt stock and I want to replicate the look of the older model 94's. I have seen some that have the cresent butt stock and was wondering when they changed to the more modern style. Does your older model have the cresent butt stock?

The old 94 has been in the family since it was bought new in 1895 in Paris Texas. I would be glad to send you a picture of the butstock. All I need is a email address.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THE HELP

Richard, any chance of your posting a picture here? I would like to see it and my guess is that some of the other guys would, too.

Thanks,

The Old Guy
