I've had pretty good luck with Cabala's Pine ridge 2 by 7 shotgun/black powder scope. Hyperfocal distance set at 50 yards and for a $70.00 dollar bill a "best buy" in my book. For your shoulder I'd suggest one of the new recoil pads such as a limbsaver and wear a Past strap on pad. This is how I started out my grand daughters and they like to shoot.

Williams should have a side mount for the Ithica.

Cabalas and Midway both have the saddle mounts. I'm not sure if there is enough meat on the Ithaca to tap and drill, but it that's possible just put Weaver bases on it. I've never been much impressed by the saddle mounts that fasten with the trigger mechnisim pins.

I've bought 8 or 9 of these little scopes. They make dandy 22 lr. scopes. Optics are pretty good and the power ring works easy. I used one on a Remington 700 ML in 54 caliber and it stood up to 150 grains of powder with 435 grain minnies with no problems.
