anyone know what there worth thinking about dumping a all american scope straight 4 power post retical

Depends on the condition and the gun show. I have seen them for as low as $30.00 and as high as $75.00. I have not seen the older straight straight 4X scopes with much over $100.00 for very nice examples. I have seen the 2X Lyman scopes with higher asking prices than the 4X scopes. Same can be said of the steel tube Weaver's in my experience.
This is a good scope if it bright enough for you. Modern scopes are considerably better I admit. The post reticle is prety good for quick shots on critters. If you have a .22 Magnum you might consider trying it. I have a straight 4X on my .22 Magnum and on one of my .17HRM's and like the power level for a walking varminter.
