In this, the year of my stumbling around, reading and looking, and then buying, while becoming completely enamored with the fabulous Marlin Golden 39, I feel sure that, somewhere along the way, I read mention of a time when Marlin built this rifle in .22WMR. I now feel that, if they did, I need to own one.
So, before I begin the quest, can anyone verify for me that this is indeed a fact and, if so, maybe some help as to when, and which configuration (Mountie, A, etc.) was involved?
Thanks for any and all input on this!

So far as I can remember, no 39's in .22mag. Do remeber a version of the 1894 Marlin in .22mag.....kind of over kill to use a 44mag. sized action for the .22mag, but that's the last lever .22mag. from Marlin that I can remember.

1894M was the model.

I looked through all my old Marlin info and did not see them ever making a .22 mag. in the 39A.

Yes, I got that far...they didn't. It was the above mentioned 1894M. I have been told, by a very senior gun dealer in whom I believe, that they only made the model for a few years in the late 80's, and that they had feed troubles with the rifle as long as they made it.
I have about given up on searching for that one, unless I can get a different input from another good source.
Thanks for all your inputs...

I've seen exactly one, and it wasn't cheap. Good luck with your search.....
You might want to check out the Henry 22 mag lever guns - at least until Marlin produces one. They look rather interesting and I haven't read anything negative about them yet. Seems everyone that has bought them are pretty happy with them.I'm sort of surprised Davidsons hasn't done a run of Model 39 22 mags by now.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had looked at the Henry's in .22 LR, and didn't come away with a good feeling. However, I've been told the Magnum is better (construction, choice of materials, etc.), so I probably will go and look at one.

Now that little Marlin model 39 is sure a sweet little 2 to plink around with. Mine is quite old now and I still shoot it as much as any 22 and I have four different 22s. My oldest is a Voere and it is the most accurate 22 auto I ever owned. It has a trigger pull without any break! It is like shooting a squirt gun! My bolt action 22 is about as accurate and my newest, the 10-22 Ruger is close to those and it is just a plain Jane, stainless steel. However, I like shooting the Marlin the best and shoot it the most. I never heard of it offered in 22 mag, but that does not mean one is not out there
