Depends on what kind of money you want to spend. Best buy is one of Cabala's 2 by 7 pine ridge shotgun/muzzle loader scopes. $70.00. I've put several of these on 22's. They have a 50 yard hyperfocal distance and work well.

I have a Weaver 2.5 to 10 classics on my 452 and it works very well.

my 2 cents.

I have a BSA red dot on my Rem 597. for shooting bushy tails, it is the best thing I have ued. It allows for a very large sight picture, and at close range, just put the dot on his head and squeeze the trigger.

I have no experience with one, but I think for close in shots, the red dot would be my choice. Great invention, and gives some benefits that regular scopes cannot give.

SWFA has a neat little BSA 3-12 air rifle scope with adjustable objective for about $39. Hard to beat for a .22.

I use a Brno model 2, which is an older model of the CZ you shoot. My personal prefernce would be for a 4X fixed power scope for the rifle. What make will depend on how much you want to spend. A Leupold would be a good choice, as would a Kahles. I own both of these in 4X. I have 2, 4 x kahles. One on a FN Commercial Model 98 in 9.3X62 and the other sits on a Sako 75SS in 308Win. Both are great. The Leupold sits on a Brno 22. If your rifle has the excellent factory iron sights fitted, make sure your mounts and scope will easily fit on. I went to the extra expense of buying Warne QD mounts for my Brno model 2. I hardly ever take the scope off, but if I feel the need its off in less than 20 seconds. It can be back on in the same time and the point of impact does not change.
The only thing to remember when buying a scope is that you get what you pay for.
Good luck.

All previous posts have been great information, so I will add that if the range is close..why not use the iron sights. The issue CZ sights are good,as I have used mine to shoot 2 inch 5 shot groups @100 yards. A scope cuts that in half, but the only thing that I might need to shoot that far when squirrel hunting is crows in the fields. Irons don't add weight or bulk and make for a handy rig.

If you don't mind the cost, the Leupold 1.5-5 with heavy crosshair would be my choice. I like the heavy reticle in the thick woods.

My favorite Squirrel bring um homer is my old Remington N12 w/ an inexpensive BSA 4 x 32. A tack driver. Have a few other combos but the above mentioned one is a minimalist light weight go getter. Doesn't have to be expensive to be a functional hunter.
