Last year I installed a new Limbsaver recoil pad on my Tikka .338 Win. Mag. Since then I've noticed the pad seems to be leaking a sticky substance. It pulls felt off my gun cabinet, sticks to me and everything else. I've washed it and even tried painting it with fingernail polish to seal it. What is this junk? This can't be normal.
Sounds like a gel is leaking from the pad. Didn't know the recoil pads had the stuff in them, but shouldn't be surprised, as the strap-on sissy pads I use have the same semi-viscus stuff in them.
Try some rubber cement if you can find it at your local crafts shop or office supply store.

Had the same thing happen with the new Remington pad for the 700 a few years ago.
I wiped it w/ something and it finally stopped. Tried a bunch of stuff...think I used KrOil or WD 40...dang CRS disease.
