I'm trying to find the manufacture date on a Kleingunther
K-14 bought in the 60's. I can't seem to find anything except for someone on this site seems to know about this name
brand of rifle. Is the manufactured date in the serial number?

You could probably google the brand name and pull it up that way.
Kleingunthers were and still are great rifles if they are still made. I always wanted one but never could afford one of the bolt actions. I believe they were manufactured somewhere in central Texas.

They had a unique trigger mechanism, instead of a long bolt spring that was pulled back and released by the sear, it used a very short spring that released against a long steel rod which shortened the hang time between trigger release and ignition. Neat idea.
