Hi All! back in 1981 or 82, I sold a new 9422M XTR to my brother-in-law. When he passed on, his oldest son got it, and when he passed on, last son got it. Now he's gone too, and my sister asked me to sell it for her. Its still in excellent shape, looks nib except for 2 very small spots of bare metal where the blueing came off. I'm trying to figure out a value for it so I can get a fair price for it for my sister. I'v been out of the gun trade for 20 years, and have no idea what value for this would be. thanks for your assistance.

My dad recently bought one in perfect condition for about $600, I think. The older ones are MUCH more desireable. I'd buy it from you but I just bought another 25-20.

One of my favorite 22s

What you can sell it for probably depends on what the demand is like in your area. Looks like those in the condition you describe are going for between $500 & $800 on the auction sites.

I checked my new "Blue Book of Gun Values" and most all models are listed under $500.00, but then you add for .22mag, special editions, takedowns, checkered XTR with large lever loop, ETC.

I would not sell mine, seventies vintage, .22LR, for less than 600.00. Last I heard, they stopped making them again in 05/06. I think the list when I got mine was $385.00 new. They are a great little .22 rifle.

Mine says the same. I'd guess that the Blue Book prices haven't kept up with the fact that they aren't being made anymore. I bought one 2 years ago for $350 and I sure wouldn't let it go for that now.

They are a great little gun for kids and adults. To be fair to the folks that own the gun, start high and determine a set amount you might accept, and stick with it. If I could afford it, I would buy another one. They are one of the few that will shoot CB Caps through Long Rifle, from the tube mag.

As I understand it Couch Commando is asking specifically about the 9422M. Don't try to fire any regular 22 rimfire ammo in that model only 22 WMR or possibly the old 22 WRF.

The rule is against offering things for sale except in the Trading Post forum. You just scroll down in the forum list until you find that forum, then the first post is a sticky thread which includes the rules. The reasons for this rule are several. One is the increase in spammers trying to take advantage of the forum host by getting him to pay to provide them with a free advertizing medium. This likely doesn't apply in your case, but the rule makes it easier for us to keep track of and elimenate those taking unfair advantage of the forum. It also prevents the tendency of a forum to deterioate into nothing but want ads, which it can do rather easily, spoiling the techncial information apsect that is 90% of it. It also makes sure sellers and buyers are in an environment where they are aware of legal requirements for trading in firearm related items.
