I am reloading some 500 S&W for a friend and can not find the width of this cartridge when it is loaded. The walls are .015 x 2= .030 plus the bullet size of .501 with a total cartridge width of .531" I have many reloading books, however, I have no cartridge specs? I want to make sure my cartridges will fit in his gun before I reload them.

I've got a .500 JRH and it's basically a .500 S&W shortened to 1.400".

Loaded rounds at the case neck are running about 0.528" .... hope that helps.

Some pistols have variances in cylinder diameter. The true test would be to have your friends pistol on hand to see if the rounds will fit.
