Several of my guns have been cleaned to bare metal, I mean no copper, or anything, and I can see white streaks where the copper used to be, what are the streaks? Are they just the rough barrel?

I wonder if it's where the bluing wore off.

That is kinda what I thought, because, the finish on the inside of the barrel is the same almost, as the outside?
A bore scope may be best. But to get a good view of your rifling hold a Q-Tip in the muzzle end and shine a bright light(e.g. flashlite) down the muzzle. The lands and grooves will leap out at ya. I use this to determine if all the copper is gone at least at the muzzle end. I also prefer soaking solvent in the bore rather using excessive mechanical scrubbing action.
