I recently acquired an older rifle - it's a single shot .22cal bolt action. It is labled as manufactured by the Shinbisha Air Rifle Company, Japan. This is a very, very basic rifle, so much so that I actually thought it was a toy rifle when I first saw it. Also, it's a smaller rifle, sort of like the 'junior' models that are put out for the Ruger 10/22 etc. The stock runs the full length of the rifle, all the way to the muzzle, and it is spliced about 2/3's of the way up from the buttstock. From the looks of it, I'd say it is an import from the 50's or 60's. Has anyone heard of this rifle before? Shinbisha is listed with some States as a rifle manufacturer, but that's about all the info I can find so far.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking to sell, as it's the perfect size for my 11 y/o daughter to learn on, but I am curious about it's origin and the history of the rifle. Thanks y'all!
