Welcome to the forum austin. Rules are simple, be nice and join in.

If you check Varmit Al's web page you can download both the calling sounds and sets of calls that will give you an idea of how to use your calls.

Is this a cass caller? The thing works just keep trying. The thing about coyotes is you can call 10 locations and not have a thing and the 11th try produces. I use a mouth caller most of the time but change up with the electronics. Move around alot ,I mean put some distance between calls. Once you educate a coyote they can be hard to shoot, you may have to trap them  Q-harley

Your caller should work fine. I have the best luck calling just before dark. I've found that it helps to put a good distance between where you call from and any vehicle used to get there. Use the wind to your advantage, stay low and concealed I find they tend to look more toward the caller and less at myself when the caller is placed a bit to the side. Try the cottontail and jackrabbit distress calls to bring them in. The coyote howl is for locating them, not really for bringing them in. Some will come on the dead run, others will sneak in slowly, and some won't call at all. If no coyotes come in I usually move a mile or so and try again. I also like to wait a week or two before I try the spot again. My coyote hunting is done in Canada not Florida, it could be quite different. Good luck.

If you are from Austin Texas, you need to quit trying to call conservative coyotes and go for the liberal coyotes. they'll fall for anything!
Seriously, if dogs have heard calls before, it will take them a while to come back in. I think sometimes, you can call too much. You must have mice, rabbits and such to have coyotes. If you have those, chances are pretty good you'll also have greys, reds, and bobcats. If you are not seeing anything, you might not have the food source.

Try it at night if legal where you are. With a light, it will let you know if the timid ones are coming to your call even if you don't get a chance to shoot them. DArk moon always worked best at night. Mid morning and late evenings during the day.
Now, I just go when I can.
Good Luck
