i have a leupold 4.5-14-50 vx3 that fogs on both ends on the outsides of the lens .i called leupold with no help from them .what should i do .leupold recomended clearview.this has happend 3 times .any advice

Welcome to the forum kyhunter. Rules are simple, be nice and join in.

If it's not fogging on the inside then something like clearview or any of the anti-fogging agents you would use on a pair of glasses will work. We all have that problem with optics when taken from a warm place to a cold place.

Ain't optics a pain. Aclamate as much as possible and then clean, in the field if you have to. The actual cleaning could heat the glass enough to cause fogging in the right conditions.

Wonder how antifoggers work?

They can work very well. Afraid I don't buy them, so can't give a brand name. Are sometimes used in surgury or endo proceedures (both on the optical equipment that goes into a person and on the shields of the MD's).

Would guess it's the same stuff sold for eyeglasses.

As to the mechanics of how they work, I'd have to research that.

Its supposed to work well.
