We had a member whom was looking for a pump in 35 Whelen. Thanks hope he picks up on that. I've got one of Remington's Classics in 8mm Rem mag. It was the 1998 classic and it's a pretty gun. Very effective on deer and elk.

I'll relay this story to my fellow site members knowing that they can appreciate the sadness that I feel. After searching the web for Canadian gunshops I came across one who carried on special order the 7600 in 35whelen. After numerous emails discussing the details I put in my order. Gun, scope, limbsaver pad and even magnaporting. I was getting the whole 9 yards. Like a kid in a candy store. Always grinning. Well, if I don't get a dear John letter back the following day saying sorry but they're no longer available.
Sorry but Im to upset to go on.
I just finished emailing your website

Thanks teacherboy but I'm Canadian. The red tape involved in crossborder shopping is unbelievable. If I won the bid today I would be lucky to see the gun by October. I pretty well have to find a dealer here who can special order me one from a dealer there. I've emailed Grice and await their response. Thanks for trying though

One of my best good buddy's ordered one of the 35 Whelen 7600's when they first came out from Grice's. Very nice rifle. Grice worked with him pretty well, if I remember right. Had the rifle to him here in AK in no time.
Never fails to amaze me the difficulty in transferring a firearm between the U.S. and Canada. Matter of fact, I'm having a rifle built in B.C. right now. We'll do whatever it takes to make the transfer happen, but I'm not looking forward to it. It shouldn't be anymore difficult than anywhere else, in my opinion, but I'm not king of the world...

There's an old boy in this neck of the woods that imports guns for people in your situtation. He works with a dealer in Montana and they do it legally. It might be worth while giving him a call. He'll probably be at a gun show this weekend.

Aren't Canadian dealers able to order guns from U.S. wholesale distributers like Grice ? As you can see - I'm not familiar with Canadian laws regarding these things.

It's not the Canadian laws. It's getting the various export permits from the US State Department and the BAFT may be involved too. I hear that 6 months is the usual waiting time.

Sure !!...........I didn't give that much of a thought ! It's too bad it's so difficult for our Canadian neighbors to import sporting firearms. I suppose I'll never understand stuff like this.
