I purchased a "Lee Deluxe Pistol Die Set" for 45 Colt. I want to use a 255Gr Lead Round-Nose Flat-Point bullet with Hodgdon's HS6 Powder. In the Charge Table/Instruction Sheet (dated 11-29-2001) that came with the Die Set, the HS6 is not listed for the "255Gr Lead Bullet" but is listed for the "260Gr Bullet". My question is, "Is it safe to use the Hodgdon HS6 260Gr load information (11.0Gr and Lee Auto Disk size .76)with the 255Gr RNFP bullet I wish to use?"

Thanks in advance.

You should be safe using load data for a 260gr. with data for 255gr. as the one you are using is slightly lighter than the reference load. I get more than a 5 grain weight difference in my own cast bullets by changing alloys on this size bullet and the loads pressures seem real similar regardless of that small weight difference.
