Anyone have experience with the Competitor pistols? I have 6.5 Swede, 356/358 and 243 barrels. I've had problems with extraction using the 6.5 barrel in the past but a new extractor seemed to fix the problem a few years ago. Just changed the barrel to 356/358 and the problem reared it's ugly head again. Extraction seemed to work a little better with the action out of the stock but still the extractor failed to slip under the case head sometimes--with 356 and 358. I put the old action housing on the barrel--this doesn't change the extractor and it seems to work most of the time--especially if I make sure the shell doesn't drop in flush before closing.

It has been 10 years or more since I fooled with the 6.5 Swede and the extractor. Have they improved the extractors even more? Guess I'll see if they are still in business. Love the pistol and was planning to work up some of Marshall's hard cast boolits for hogs.
