Sloppy in what way? I mean do the cases fit loosely in the holder, or does the holder slop around in the ram slot, and does the other Lee holder fit the same in the Redding, or....?

Try swapping the loose shellholder for the one that you have on the RCBS. Recheck the fit on both presses. Could be that the loose one really is on the small side or that the Redding press just needs a Redding shellholder. Nothing carved in stone that shellholders are all interchangeable although many are.

Agree with Marshal. I think you have run into an example of Manufacturing Tolerances in a non-critical area. Doubt it will cause you any proplems in use.

You might check the shellholder retainer clip in the Redding ram to see if it's installed correctly or if it's worn and no longer pressing against the shellholder. Reinstall or replace if needed.
Also, if you have a shellholder of another brand, or better yet a Redding, try it for fit.
Finally, if nothing satisfies you, bring this up to Redding customer service. Have emailed them before about Saeco moulds and they were very customer oriented.

Check the Redding's retainer spring that keeps the shell holder in place. It may be loose, bent or worn.
Note that looseness in this area is not only not critical, but a little can actually be desirable. Allowing the base of the case to slip horizontally, like a floating reamer holder, allows cases to self-center in dies, and may actually result in more accurate ammunition. You obviously don't want it so loose that it could pull out when you withdraw the ram. Nor do you want the slop to exist perpendicular to the ram, which would let the case head get out of square.

Redding/Saeco customer service is excellent. They have sent me mould parts twice at no charge.
Missing the retaining ring, can you believe that?
