I guess I've tried dozens of various combinations of mounts, bases, one piece, multipiece,different rings,etc. on the flat top AR15 rifles and I'm still looking for something that is simple, solid, and that works. Why in the world don't someone make a reciever that I can simply mount a scope on that doesn't require all these riser bases or these one piece wonders that never fit a scope right? Seems I always pay more to get a flat top, then eventually going back to the old carry handle to end the frustration. The idea is to have a platform which is versitile. What I end up with is usually this black gun with a bunch of finger nuts and screws holding all these pieces together. Gotta be a better way.
