A pard gave me a few 265gr WFNGC to try in my Marlin. I really like the looks of that bullet and I'm looking forward to testing them out. My problem is that I have no data for a bullet in that weight and I don't have enough bullets to work up a load from scratch based on heavier bullets.

Anyone have a source for load data on this sized bullet?

TIA

I can't say for sure and I wasn't able to ask the guy who gave them to me but it does look like a CP bullet.

Wet Dog,
I would suggest 25-26 grs. of 4227...... shoots well in my .45 Colt Marlin Cowboy under a 285 gr. WFNGC bullet. 25 grs. of W296 works well also with the 285 gr., but I prefer 4227 with bullets in the 250 gr. range.

Good luck,
John

http://www.castperformance.com I have boxes of .452 265grgc & 300grgc from CP for my 45 colt , 454 casull & SW 460mag great bullets no leading with my handloads using W296/H110. CP used to publish load data but when the company was sold to Grizzly Cartridge http://www.grizzlycartridge.com they changed the website eliminating the load data.
