I'm looking at Ebay listings for some Nikon scopes..

Trolling around the forums here, i find that Nikon requires original receipt and paperwork that came in the box...

Question.
Most Ebay sellers claim "Brand new in box". Would my Ebay purchase constitute as a proper receipt?
Without original purchase receipt, would Nikon be that anal, and not fix the scope??

Thanx..

Not sure. Would be best to contact their repair center and ask.

When I sent in the only Nikon scope I own for repair, it required the original sales receipt, the warranty card with my name as original owner and I paid the postage.

Thanks for the info. in Nikon scopes as far as repairs go. I know the optic's are great BUT I'll be looking else where for a new scope. Leupold has a outstanding service reputation. TF

I just looked at my Nikon warranty...They say they will repair or replace even if you are not the original owner. No time limit and no warranty card is required. :) Sounds good to me as the only scopes I have ever had problems with have been Bushnells. Q

Must have changed their policy to conform with the rest of the industry, then.

I used to carry a few Nikon scopes in my store. A customer had a question about one of them one time. I called the Nikon Co. and tried to speak to a factory rep about his question. I called several times over about a 2 week time period. All I ever got was a voice mail that never returned my calls. I spoke to an operator there a couple of times, but all she would do was transfer my calls to the voice mail. I took my remaining stock of Nikon scopes to a gun show and let them go cheap. I refuse to carry a product in my store that won't provide any better dealer service than that. I have no idea what their warranty service is like. Honestly doubt that I will ever find out.
