I happen to run into a friend who took his family on vacation in the Conway/Osippee region of NH. He was driving alone and spotted a deer with a couple of fawns. Soon, a man with a pick up screeched to a halt to see. The two talked and the local gentleman said that there aren't many deer in the area. He said that they are infested with coyotes and they have done a real job on the deer. He said that a lot of sportsmen are keeping a gun handy at all times to shoot coyotes. The man said that he shot thirteen this year without really going after them seriously.

I know that Maine had a problem and still does to an extent with coyotes. They adopted a snaring progream around the deer yards and people have noticed an increase in the deer population. Mybe NH needs to do the same thing. The Osippee region is nice and I find it fascinating . The mountains were once an ancient volcano, long, long extinct. I hope that the deer don't end up that way over there.
