After nearly a year searching for a 24" octagonal barreled Cowboy in .44 my ship has come in so to speak , Not only have I located one but to cap it all its BRAND NEW , I know over there in the colonies you might not find that unusual but here in England its the equivalant of rocking horse s88t in fact its probably the one new one left anywhere this side of the pond so tomorrow it will join the Cowboy 357 and the .44 carbine in the guncabinet .

Cool! I'm sure it took a lot of diligence in your search.

I hope you get to take it to the range or hunting and shoot it without your government taking it away. You'll love it. I love mine that's for sure.

It could never legally be used for hunting as the firearms department would never sanction a pistol calibre round for hunting over here as far as I know, it will be used solely for what we call gallery rifle shooting which is all the old pistol comptitions adapted for underlevers and .22 semi auto rifles.
because pistols are banned in the UK this is how we have to do it nowdays but its still great fun.

Your welcome to immigrate here any time and go handgun hunting. It's a shame that The UK has gotten so bad about grabbing everybody's guns over there.
Congratulations on your find. I have Marlin Cowboys in .357 and .45 Colt and they are both very accurate. They both smoothed up and now are very quick as well.

Well thanks for the invite Mr Buffalo one day I might visit the USA I have some relations in Antelope valley CA but I hate flying so travel is a problem, as for handgun hunting I doubt if I could hit a tethered elephent at 10 yards I was an absolutely terrible pistol shot thats why Ive always stuck to rifles and although I have Sakos ,Remingtons ,Rugers ect I prefer my Marlin lever guns above anything else.
Hi Clem.
I also have a 357 cowboy and I have worked extensively on it to slick the action and have modifyed the trigger down to about 2lb pull its now an absolute joy to use, it has won me quite a few competitions over the last year or so and this helped me get into the Great Britain Gallery Rifle Team for last years Phoenix shoot at Bisley but I am convinced the 44 cowboy is the way to go thats why I searched so hard for one , luckily it has a very slick action to start with so only the springs and trigger need working on, If I get it sorted in time I shall use it in competition at Bisley in March.

Bianchi,
If you do get ovewr here to go hunting you can use that pistol caliber rifle to go deer hunting. most states allow pistol caliber rifles to be used. they make good brush guns.
