I've sent off for a Walther red dot sight. How do you sight them? I've never used one before. I;m going to be starting off at 25 yds. Also it's for a Walther G22.

Have never seen a Walther red dot before, so don't know how the adjustments work on it.

All the other red dots I have seen (and I own a Tasco PDP5) have elevation and windage knobs or screws on them with indicators showing which way to turn them. Mine is mounted on a cantilever rail mount over the bore which allows the open sights to be used. From the benchrest and sandbagged, put the open sights on target for center hits, then tuned in the red dot until it duplicated the POI.

Can I use my amber shooting glasses or switch to clear?

kdub is right on.

I had a Red Dot style CCO (close combat optic) on my Colt M-4 during my recent deployment to beautiful central Asia. First zero your iron sights. Then put on the dot device. If your weapon allows you to see the rear and front sights while looking though the tube, you can actually bore sight by securing a good sight picture (one you repeat every shot) and then turning on the dot and adjusting it until it aligns with the top of your front sight post. You fine tune it from there by shooting and adjusting just like you would a scope.

You can use either glasses.
