I just bought a ruger compact rifle M77 MkII in 7MM 08. Im in PA and my shots are almost always 60 to 70 yards . Im looking for a good scope to top the rifle and dont want to spend alot or over power my self. any suggestions ?

Get a Leupold, Burris, Weaver or Bushnell in a 4x fixed power (a 2.5x would be better) and shoot up a storm! :D

...YUP...Just what Kdub-said - And...PLEASE have it mounted properly by a certified-smith in TALLEY rings and bases.

Along those lines, might I suggest the Weaver K Model 4x fixed. Real good scopes for the money - around $135. They don't come in 2.5. That IS, the ultimate eastern woods magnification IMO.

Leupold M8 in 2 1/2 or 3 power if you can find one. Can't go wrong there.

Don't worry about aftermarket rings. The Ruger rings work just fine.
