I have a new gun that you can not hit the side of a barn past 25 yards is this typical for them. trying every brand of shells sold here the same thing.

Was wondering what people thought of the remington 597 in 17 HMR or 22mag.How relaible are they?Very hard to get a licence for rimefire autos in Australia so no one imports these remingtons so i would have to do it myself which will work out to be very expensive and spare parts will be a hassel , i believe it would be worth the trouble cause they would be the ultimate rifle for wistleing up foxes If any one could give me some infomation on these rifles would be apreciated. Rugedness and reliability are most important to me.
