. . in a few weeks my son & I will be flying to Texas, Ranch Dog's specifically, for the "Hog Hunt", which I'm sure you recall as the top prize in PM IV. My son works a crazy schedule but just happens to have 5 consecutive days off at the exact time we will be away. What's really going to hurt will be leaving this crisp 1º air and suffering it out in RD's mid 70 temps.
We have both decided to use Ranch Dog's rifles rather than travel with our own. Thanks RD for the offer to use your equipment.
As the time grows closer I get more excited and anxious. In the meantime I'm just killing time by casting bullets, shooting a bit of indoor bullseye, and loading a few cartridges.

Steelbanger, good call on leaving your rifles at home, the last trip out to Montana this past fall was a dissaster, smashed the gun case safe wide open on the way out, had to fight tooth and nail to get them to cover it, and on the way home they threw out 3 boxes of 300 mag bullets (not packed with the guns) and kept them or tossed them who knows, and then lost the gun in chicago for 4 days and claimed no responsibility, finally returned it 5 days later. (didnt even fly through chicago) It has been getting worse the last few years and this year was the last straw, will be driving from now on. Prob just leave a rifle out there in case I want to fly.

Ditto to Steelbanger And as a fellow Pennsylvanian I know he won't need any roped! :D :D
Rowdy, I think you just spent some time doing R&R didn't you? Well, welcome back if you were. I thought I'd get some good trigger time to help keep sharp for the PM but it's been temps in the teens with wind chills in the single and negative digits! Too cold for me to shoot! I've cast up several hundred pounds of bullets and loaded up a bunch but I'm getting cranky! :D

Sounds like fun. In the unlikely even that RD runs out of Marlins, or ammunition, you can borrow some of mine! :D

wave to Corsicana(just south of Dallas) as you fly over. That'll be about 15-20 minutes before you land. Happy hunting! kinda redundant huh?
