Did Smith and Wesson ever make one? A .38, not .357

Back when S&W's had names rather than numbers...Heavy Duty (fixed sights) and Outdoorsman (adjustable sights). Miss the days of names rather than numbers; these two were a descriptive match.

Can also find the occasional Colt New Service in .38Specail...kind of a Colt N-frame.

May find them listed as 38/44's...38specails on 44 Frames. Old Lyman manulas listed specail loads for these old guns, and the ammo factorys put out 38/44 type .38specail loads (kind of an early +P+).
