There was a Virginian Dragoon, 44mag stainless at the gun show today. I believe it pre-dated Interarms.
The guy was asking $300.00 for it. Is this a good buy. It is in excellent shape. Parts would be hard to find if something broke, but I like the looks and feel of it.
BTW, I bought a S&W Model 29-2 Nickel w/presentation case. It's 8 3/8", fired very little. There is a VERY light powder burn around 5 chamber mouths, none on the other. I would rate this gun at 99%+., the case not so good, the felt is gone.
I paid $525.00 for it, good deal or not?

Howdy Snow,

I think you got a good deal, paid about that for mine, just a few years ago. I had an older 29 when I was at Ft. Rich, that I traded to a fellow at an Anchorage gunshop, around 92. That was a really straight shooting gun, reckon he still has it?

I used one of those dragoon pistols way back in the day, and I shot pretty well. It was a foriegn made gun, and I do think that Interarms was in the mix someplace. Can't say anything about parts, but I think a fellow would be hard pressed to shoot one loose, as if I remember they were built heck for stout.

Best,

Steve
