I've noticed that Faucettb (Bob from Idaho) hasn't been on the forum lately. I hope nothing has happened to him. He is a gentleman and a fantastic contributor on this forum, hope everything is ok.

Fauctebb has a history of heart problems. Could be in the VA hospital in Spokane for latest plumbing problems. Marshall was going to check on him several weeks ago and we haven't heard if he was able to. Don't think any of us Mods have his phone number.

I knew Bob was having health problems and have seen he's not been on in a while and was wondering myself. I hope everything is well with him.

Mr. Zumbo,

Personally, I think your mindset is too focused on hunting instead of thinking about the the bigger and broader issue which is the right to own firearms. The 2nd Amendment is about much more than just being able to own firearms in order to go hunting.

Here are some relevant quotes:

“As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people duly before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow-citizens, the people are confirmed by the next article in their right to keep and bear their private arms.”
--- Tench Coxe, "Remarks on the First Part of the Amendments to the Federal Constitution," in the Federal Gazette, June 18, 1789 http://www.guncite.com/gc2ndnew.html

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive.”
--- Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution (Philadelphia 1787). http://www.guncite.com/gc2ndfqu.html

"The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime routinely do. But few saw the Third Reich coming until it was too late. The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed -- where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once."
-- Judge Alex Kozinski, US 9th Cir. Ct. of Appeals.

Bob from Idaho sighting? I sincerely hope its not my fault that he hasn't been around lately

JB, it wouldn't be your fault anyway. If that's even the reason he's not been around.

Nah, that's a different Bob Faucett over there - he also posts on 24 Hr Campfire.

I'm pretty sure our Bob is having health issues, but I haven't been able to get a phone number to track him down.

Sure hope he's OK.

I'm pretty sure that's a different Bob Faucett. There is another Bob from down south somewhere who posts on several other forums.

There's a Bob from northern Idaho (faucettb) who's posting on the 204 Ruger forum. He's showed photos of his CZ in .204 and his Taurus Tracker in .41 mag. He says he's an older guy who wears a belt and suspenders. The belt and suspenders is the "smok'n gun" for me.

I just did a little digging and it looks like the last time he was active here was the evening that I got un-banned, I sure hope his absence (departure? :( ) doesn't have anything to do with that episode

jb,

Don't worry about it. You had nothing to do with it.

I think most of us are here because we enjoy talking about guns, etc. with other people who share the same interests. Some times, you can help them with something; sometimes, they can help you with a problem. We come and go as we please. We can be selective about the topics we browse. We can ignore the ones we really give a r*t's *ss about.

Imagine what it would be like if you had to read EVERY post on EVERY thread, no matter how many times the same thing has come up, OVER, and OVER, and OVER again. I'm sure it would get to be more like work than like fun pretty quick. Some times we just need a break.

Yep that would be him over there. I looked at a few of his posts and I have no doubt it's him. Lee equipment, a CZ 204 Ruger, Idaho....it's him, he last posted on 3-9-07 so looks like his health is ok.

I looked over there and did find where he had posted, but that was back in January. He seems to have disappeared which is not a good sign. Really injoyed talking with him. He always had a good answer for everyone.

Not sure why he hasn't been around here, but glad he's healthy, at least.

It gets old reminding people to think before they type... cleaning up spam, moving posts, deleting duplicates, and whatnot. Trust me.... it isn't a barrel of laughs every day.

I recognize the "Bob" sled his .243 is setting on. I miss him here, but like others have said I'm glad he's ok.
