Hi considering one of these for my CCW carry seems like it meets all my basic criteria it's light relatively speaking the 9 mm round seems effective enough with the right ammo. Hoping you guys can fill me in on the accuracy, and the price well I saw a new one for about 350 so that's also on target, so whats your opinion on trigger pull and reliability and basically anything else you feel might be important for this kind of carry. Thanks!

Kahr's are a very well made handgun. I have not personally used the model that you have mentioned here. I personally carry a Kahr PM9 with night sites. It is my go everywhere with me gun. I like Glocks for carry when I want a little more size to my handgun. The Kahr PM9 is small enough to carry in the back pocket of a pair of wrangler blue jeans and not stick out. It shoots reasonably good and seems to always work. I have sold several of them through my store and everyone seems to like them that has bought one. You might want to give the PM9 a good close look for a CCW handgun. They cost somewhat more than what you are looking at, but they are small enough that you will end up always having it with you. The PM9 comes in both 9MM and 40S&W. The 9MM is easier to control with the small grip. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Thanks that sounds encouraging, I'll check out the PM9, want to go with a polymer gun for weight considerations. That way hopefully I'll never leave it at home when and if I really need it. Thanks!

I haven't tried the one you mentioned, but I have one of the earlier all stainsteel Mk40's that I use for my go with me anywhere, and everywhere guns. I like the somewhat heavier weight of the all steel guns as far as shootability. Like Bryant said, it fits in the back pocket of Wranglers (Carharts & Dockers, too) without being noticed. It's so small and light, you really don't know it's there. If I'm wearing a coat or jacket, so I can actually conceal a somewhat larger gun in a holster, I might carry my Glock 30.

The only down side to the small Kahrs, at least for me with large hands, is the really short, narrow grip and the long trigger pull. You can only get two fingers on the grip, so they seem a little snappy to shoot. Both accuracy and reliability for a gun of that size are very good.

Hi Gunslinger,
Looks like we may have some of the same tastes in handguns. The PM9 is best as I can tell the same size as the one you have. Main difference being the PM9 has a polymer lower frame with a stainless slide. I also had one of the total stainless model's and liked it just fine, except when I had dress slacks on the weight would pull down enough in the thinner material of the pockets of the dress slacks that it was noticable. I went to the polymer frame to see if that would help. It really made a major differnce in how it patterened in the lighter pants. You will forget it is in your back pocket in blue jeans. I was somwhat surprised in the recoil dept. In the 9MM there was really VERY little difference in the felt recoil between the heavier stanless frame and the lighter polymer frame. I honestly thought that it would be more noticable than it was. If you were to get this small handgun in a 40S&W it might be a little hard to hang on to very well without having to re-position you shooting grip between shots. I stayed with the 9MM and am well pleased with it. And like yourself, when I have easy cover for it, I often times carry a larger glock with me.
Curt31, I think that you will like this little pistol if you try one of them. The main difference between the 2 is about twice the price. The little PM9's with a set of night sights will set you back over $600.00. It costs less to get the right setup the 1st time than it does to trade a time or 2. You have to pay sales tax each time if you buy from a dealer and you will lose a little of the value if you do a trade in. The dealer will have to make a little profit on the trade or he most likely won't want to trade for your used handgun. I know this was more money than you were talking about spending, but it is as good of a package out there as I know of for what you are wanting to do. Good luck with whatever you decide on. Steve

Say how about finger extensions do they make any for it? and whats ths size diffrence between them. The CW9093 & the PM9. Thanks

Hi Curt31,
I am looking in my dealer book between a Mod. 9093 and the Mod. PM9093N. The Mod. PM9093N is the one that I have been refering to as the Mod. PM9, that is what is stamped on the side of the slide. The size and weight difference between the 2 handguns is quite noticable. The Mod. 9093 weight is 26 oz. and has a 4" barrel. The Mod. PM9 weight is 14 oz. with a 3" barrel
The Mod. that I think you have been talking about is the Mod. CW9093 It falls about half way in between both of the other handguns as far as size and weight go. It shows a weight of 18 oz. but does not give the barrel length. From the pic. in the book it looks like the overall size is about halfway in between the others.
If you are wanting a good small pocket pistol that is small enough that you will actually carry it all the time, go with the Mod. PM9093N (PM9) with night sights. You will really enjoy the night sights after you get a pistol with them on it and get to see what a difference they really make.
Hope this helps to clear this up for you a little, Good luck, Steve

My Mk40 is shown in the photo with the flush fit 5 round mag. There's also an extended 6 round mag. One of each came from the factory with my gun. The extended 6 round mag give gives you enough grip area to get three fingers on it. The extended grip makes it easier to shoot well, but it won't fit in a pocket easily. It usually carry mine with the 5 in place, and the 6 in another pocket.

Gunslinger, yours is the same size as the 9MM that I had. Mine carried 1 extra round in each of the mags. Same size mags, but since it was a 9MM instead of a 40S&W there was room for the extra bullet. Since I have went to the much lighter polymer frame, I have been totally pleased with this pistol. If you get a chance to handle and shoot one of the lightweights sometime be careful....you will fall in love with it...lol.
