The plunger on the front of the forearm: Was this part blued on a new gun? I have only seen well used guns on which this part is in the white. However, I suspect that long-term use has rubbed all the blue off.

Same question on the Winchester 63. ? ? ?

My M63's operating rod was "in the white" but the knurled tip was blued. Mina was made around 1940.
