I have slowly looked at various progressive presses over the past two years and finally settled on a Dillon 650. The press is built like a rock and has an excellent reputation for Customer Service. This post is to warn others that their reputation may be overblown.
I tried to decipher their catalog and sent them an e-mail with questions related to my desired order. To date I have still not received a response.
I tried to just order the press on line. My order totaled nearly $1,000 and they want another $121 for freight. So I sent them another e-mail to find out if they would consider either sending it on my FedEx bill or utilizing FedEx Ground. To date I have still not received a response.
I tried to call them during normal business hours. I received a message telling me to call back during normal business hours!
I sent them a fax and it also garnered zero response.
If this is the sort of response you are going to get from a company when you want to GIVE them $1,000, what sort of Customer Service should I expect if I ever have a problem?

I've called Dillon twice, once for a replacment shell plate, must have just been a bad one it was for the 30-30 rimed shells, had good service on that one, and the other was for clarification on the charge bars for the powder measurer, got a straight anser.
I order all of my stuff thrue the local dealer, if I have them bring it on in the stock order there is no shipping and they charge the catalog price, they even open it right in front of you to get the price.
This is the first complaint against Dillon that I've heard of?

Don't depend on email to go through. Spam filters on both ends make it a sometimes proposition.
Keep calling....

How can I find an authorised dealer who can order the items?
Would they provide advice and or service if I have a problem?

Wife got me a dillan back in October, didnt give it to me until Christmas, I didnt open it until middle of Jan. When I opened it, one of the pieces was broken and I was missing 3 or 4 other parts. I got someone on the phone (wont do the email thing, never get response) they gave me no hassle, answered all my questions and sent everything out next day air, said if I ever need anything els just call. I did call again and they have alway gone the second mile. And to answer your question about a dealer, they can tell you on the phone as to where you can buy one in your area.

The low powder sensor broke on mine, from overtightening, my fault by the way. I called to order a replacement and was ask to describe exactly what was broken, I did and received the part in short order and at no cost. You can't ask for more than this.

Hmmm, that does not sound like the Dillon company that I deal with.
Email is not a good thing to use for the purchase of Dillon equipment. Call instead. Remember they are in AZ and do not use Daylight Savings time, so perhaps that was the reason you got the 'call during normal hours' message.
I bought an XL650 machine from them 2 years ago. Man, what a machine! Man, what a company! I have broken cams twice, had primer feed problems and a few other things happen. I call them up and they help me on the phone, then if a part has broken they send me the part along with instructions on how to install it.
There has not been a single penny charged me for the parts or excellent service provided. It took me a while to understand what their 'No BS Warrenty' meant. It means that all parts are free (if they break) regardless if you are the original owner or the fifth guy in line of those who owned it before you.
I suggest you try again on the phone. I see no reason for going through a dealer. Mike Dillon somehow has the pricing fixed so there is no discount available no matter who you buy it from.
Ebay is the only place I have found to buy Dillon at a discount, and the discount is only by individuals who are selling. Dealers list on Ebay at full price so if you want new just call Mike......pg

I agree 110% with above. The "NO BS" means just that. I bought a 550 in the 80's and now it's updated to all the good stuff. All parts I broke or lost they replaced immediately. Don't waste your time coming up with an excuse, just tell 'em what you need and what happened.
My 1050 was a real pain. I set it up for .45acp from .40 S&W, and I am sure I needed to check things out better. They were very helpful, tolerant, and sent replacement pieces right away.
Brian Enos is great to deal with as well. Very knowledgeable and can get what you want or answer questions quickly. Still best to call Mike Dillon.
