I have a Garand that will eject the clip after 4 shots are fired. Any ideas as to what might be causing this problem?

you know mike I am not a Garand "expert" but I do own one. I have taken a look on mine and it seems that the op-rod spring aka. recoil spring keeps tension on the follower arm/assembly as rounds go into battery and eject. I am of mind that you could have either a pretty strong recoil spring or perhaps a bent follower rod that is causing the clip to prematurely eject the last few rounds.
there are garand owners/shooters here that will help shed some light on this matter better than I.
should be an easy fix.

You have to be sure your not putting the clip in upside down. :D
No really it sounds like the spring that puts the tension on the remaining bullets that are in the clip is getting weak. I had one that would do that once in awhile replaceing the spring took care of the problem.

bad spring on the clip latch, or the hook is worn...

Clint McKee sells a heavy-duty replacement clip latch spring.
