I think Ty will tell you the 45-70 isn't capable of pushing the 450gr TSX fast enough to perform reliably, I'm pretty sure it's designed for stout DGR cartridges. The 250gr and 300gr are designed for the .45-70, so it wouldn't hurt to ask or email them.
