I read that many big companies often purchased arms and ammunition for their employes to use during work. Also that they marked the weapons with their company "mark" so that ownership was not disputed.
I have a 1894 Marlin 38/40 (made in 1895) that is marked "CWF" on stock, receiver and barrel. Anyone have any ideas what company "CWF" might have been?
