just picked up a Modelo 1935 in a .30 caliber so stated behind the charger hump(.30) for 75.00-don't see no serial number. I know back when, that numbers weren't always on some rifles. Wonder if this is the case.

Expectin to salvage the action and make it in the 9.3 x 62 Mauser.

Any idea of BATF regs on this military rifle?

the ladder rear is gone with but just the frame for the sight and it appears that one has tried to knock it off with a hammer. the front sight is not the original. the stock is literally junk the metal is not rusted thanks to that phosphate finish. it is fitted with a williams aperture that was fitted to overcome the charger hump:)- been bubbeized for sure one way or the other.

The receiver is about the only good thing along with the bottom metal.

Thanks for the sites.

In that case have at it!! You can build anything you want on that reciever. Keep us posted! Sarco and Numrich both have bolts in stock if yours is junk. I bought a complete 98 bolt from sarco, it had a single 8 stamped on it. It was 70+ years "new". Great shape and lots of cosmoline, not a mark or scratch on it. Looks to be pre- WW2. $42.00 included shipping Jim

Jim,

going to be awhile, have Bill Soverns makin a stock right now for my Rem. Model 30 .338-06 and Stuart Satterlee building my 9.3 Brenneke. This action will be a donor for a very thoughtful chamber-might even be the .375 Ruger if one has the reamer afore to long.

thanks for the help.

Too bad they hammered on the rear sight, but they are soft soldered to the barrel, and come off with just a small amount of hear supplied to the sight base. used ones can probably purchased from www.gunpartscorp.com along with a new stock. Once the sight base is heated, remove the set screw and the rear sight should just fall off. With the Williams apprature sight removed, and the replacement rear sight installed along with the replacement wood and hardware, you should just have to install plug screws where the Williams sight was mounted, your rifle should be acceptable for military matches. Otherwise a nice stock and barrel rework makes a good hunting rifle.
