Ive looked in all the books and this isn't listed. never been fired. no box, papers, etc. old dude neede money for his house. very interesting.

I can't find any record of that model number existing among my limited resources. I think you are reading a numeral "1" as a lower case "L or i"? There is a model 3081, limited edition. .30-30 lever action with Microgroove® barrel. I don't have a value on it.

I suggest you go to the Marlin Collector's forums and use their Guest Questions forum (http://www.marlin-collectors.com/forum/index.php) to post this question.

I will move this thread to the lever guns forum in case someone there has more information about it? I know the Marlin Collectors Association will let you look guns up by serial number, but that requires membership to access, and membership isn't free.

Don't know if this will help but...Since the Alamo was 1836, I'd assume the centennial would be 1936. Making it an older model. Should be worth at least what that period rifle would bring if it's in decent shape.
