Ok,

You want some numbers.

Here is some numbers for you to digest.

Pennsylvania HAD about 1.2 million deer hunters before the Game Commission decided that they HAD too many deer.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission does not make the laws when it comes to seasons and bag limits. The State Legislature makes the laws. The Game Commission only suggests what the bag limits and seasons should be.

The PA Game Commission is not affiliated with the Fish Commission - even though the State Legislature suggested that the two should be merged in an effort to save money for the state.

Why did the Pa Game Commission protest so adamantly - because they have their hand in the cookie jar and if others were brought into the scene and saw what they were stealing - they would be in big trouble?

Not to mention - that the cookie can only be divided so many ways. The Fish Commission is a not for profit organization - that seam’s to be breaking even year after year.

They some how learned to live within their budget.

Where as the PA Game Commission only knows how to spend money. They start out with studies, they get who ever they can get, be it the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Audubon society, the Smithsonian, who ever has money to spend. Bring it on down, like Bob Barker on the Price is Right!

Then they do a study, but the results are not published for years. By the time that they do publish the results - the results are no longer any good, because the information is outdated.

When you are nothing more than a high-class reliefer. Then when you run out of your money to spend, you look for other people’s money to spend.

How do you get money when you are broke?

The answer is that you start selling off your possessions.

That in this case is coal, natural gas, oil, and timber, right of ways.

Let me cite you an example,
Where I live, it is very mountainous and the Cellular phone companies were not interested in making it a 100% service area. There would not be enough phone traffic to justify the expense of 4 more towers in the middle of the woods to take care of the few customers per a year that it would help.

The Game Commission needed to upgrade their communications network. One thing that they needed was a transmitter to be some where about the area of the Reynoldsville Pa exit of I 80.

That area just happens to be the same location where they have a food and cover corps building and state game lands 244.

Now the State of Pennsylvania tried to bail out the Game Commission and told them that their assets were frozen and they could not longer spend any money without the approval of the state legislature.

The State suggested that all projects in the future would be a combined effort - where all agencies will be involved in the spending of money. This would include the State Fire Wardens, and the PA Fish Commission and the National Forrest Service and PA State Police etc, to offset the cost of any new projects.

The Game Commission didn't want to be affiliated with the other agencies and went right out and ordered a transmitter / repeater, tower and transmitter building. Put it up, installed the transmitter and acted like as if they did nothing wrong.

The State found out and threatened to prosecute.

The Game Commission came right back and said that it was something that they needed right now and could not be decided by committee. The PA Game Commission also told them that they did not have to justify their expenditures to the State Legislators even though the State runs the Game Commission.

The Game Commission came right back and said that they spent the $450,000 out of petty cash.

I don't know where you live, but where I live - $450,000 is not petty cash.

If you read the report for the harvest for the 2006 - 2007 season. You will see that the PA Game Commission estimates the kill at a 33% ratio of report cards vs. actual kills.

The Pa Game Commission by their own admission will tell you that their numbers are inflated because of their belief that only 1 out of ever 3 hunters that are successful - actually turned in a report card.

That folks is a lie.

I have turned in a report card for every deer that I have harvested since 1980!

Every member of my family has turned in a Report Card for every deer that they have harvested since 1980!

If you believe the propaganda that the PA Game Commission tells you - you will grow a nose 10 feet long like Pinocchio.

The Unified Sportsman’s of Pennsylvania club did a study on Bald Eagle Mountain last year. The results were so shocking that they did it two more times - just to make sure that they didn't miss anything.

Their results showed that there was less than 1.2 deer per a square mile.

I'm not talking about 1 deer per 25 acres. I'm talking about maybe 6 deer per a square mile of forested land in Pennsylvania.

When the Game Commission tells you that you have no less than 6 deer per a square mile and you don't even have two.
Then somebody is a liar.

I'm sorry I don't see your numbers on how many acres it takes to support a deer in the state of Pennsylvania (on average), with the current habitat.

Perhaps you forgot to include that information? Please get it so I can add it to the other thread.
