among the 3 reamer manufacturers at the top of my head which is considered to be more "accurate" - Clymer, Manson or Forster? I am looking into a floating pilot finisher for my first short chambered project. I believe the solid could give me a bit of trouble if for some reason I do not get it "concentric" or stay centered.

Understand the need for a depth micrometer is a must opposed to a caliper.

a few pointers are welcome.

Talk with Dave Manson and you can forget the other guys. I had Dave grind reamers for me back when he worked for Clymer and I have never found anyone out there to be more knowledgeable or helpful than him. Do a google search for Manson Reamers and you can get his contact info on the web....
