Would you subtract 06 then from 100 making the date manufactured 1994?

That's correct. I have a 357 1894 on it's way to me with an '06' serial number. Marlin told me that it would have microgroove rifling. The fact that your's has Ballard rifling gives me hope that mine will, too. I'm picking it up tomorrow.


Just picked it up. Microgroove. Oh well. It still shoots straight. and it looks really good.
