Looking for a good staring load.
Didn't see much available at the usual resouces.
I'm considering going with either 40 grains of H322 or 44 grains of W748 to start. Any help is appriciated.

Ok. I took the lack of responses to mean no one has tried this bullet with this round.
I made a few up last night with 39.5 grains of H322 under the BTB 525 grainer. I'll report back in this thread the next time I take my rifle out to test them. :)

Awesome.
Let us know all you can, and I'd really like to hear about the teeth chattering and dizzy spells :D
Good luck, shoot safely.

Matt, I use 39g H322 in my 45/70s. The pressure tested load is 41g H322 in 45/70.
The issue is the case volume, if your case volume is smaller than starline 45/70 case volume, your pressure will be higher. I think it's a reasonable starting load. It will be comfortable to shoot and the impact on rocks is downright awesome.
