Just wondering what tricks or techniques you all incorporate for quickly and efficiently removing excess lube (around the nose, etc) from cast bullets? I've been scraping it off with my thumb nail, and it is tedious.

That's what I do.

I'm not sure what lube system your using, but I got away from the lubri-sizers years ago and went to the Lee liquid Alox.
The liquid alox is dribbled on bullets placed in a cottage cheese container or like and just swirled around til it coats everything. It just takes a few drops, probably less than half a teaspoon to do fifty bullets.
Once swirled and coated the bullets are stood up on wax paper and allowed to dry overnight. They are coated like old 22 long rifles used to be. The coating drys so it is not sticky and works very well for handgun use for me. It's also very inexpensive.
If I have not done so before jk welcome to the forum.

Thanks. I am no stranger to this forum as I lurk around here off and on for the last three years or so. Just haven't posted much.
I'm talking about the cast bullets you buy from BTB or Montana Bullet Works, or anyplace in general. There is usually lube that gets on the nose, etc. I try to wipe it off after I've seated my bullets.

If you don't want to do it the way your doing I used to keep a small bowl of acetone and dip and wipe with a rag on my commercial lead bullets. Quick and clean, but you've got to have some ventilation or you soon feeling like you can walk on the ceiling.

Great idea! I'll have to try that.
