what kind of price range can i expect to pay for a winchester 94 ae 444. seems like the ones i have seen for sale are sky high compared to marlins. are they that collectable.

I'm afraid that were still suffering from the Winchester fever for the 94's and prices seem to be high simply because they've stopped making them.

If you want the most bang for your buck get one of the Marlins.
