Hi there,
I use IMR 4064 in my .243 and am having a hard time finding this in my local area. I do have access to AA4064.
I was wondering how similar these powders are to each other. Can I expect about the same peformance from either?
I know reloading data isnt interchangeable between the two, but I was wanting to know if any of you all have used both of these brands. The Accurate brand does run a bit cheaper than the IMR brand does (about $5.00/lb cheaper).
Another thing I am curiouse about is temperature sensitivity between the two.
Appreciate any input.
Thanks, JR

I may have answered my own question...
Immediately after posting this, I went to the Accurate web site and found that they dont even list any data using AA4064 for the .243.
Anyway, I'll wait and see what you all have to say.
Thanks.

I've been getting mine through Powder Valley. They have some great prices and I found they have everything and if I keep a list of powders I'll need and put in a order for primers as well, the $20 haz mat fee is still much cheaper than if I'd bought it all locally:

They also have very reasonable shipping.

All I can tell you is I saw some AA4064 data for a 30-06 and the Max was the exact load of IMR 4064 I am using in a '06 with a 150 grain bullet.
243? no idea.

Well, shoot, JR. Maybe you should grab a pound and try it out and let us know how it shoots. I can't find any locally, but have heard that it is shorter kernal than the IMR and thus meters better. I think it would also pack more compactly in small cases, thus might work well in the .223. If I could find it locally, I would happily buy a pound and report my findings. I just can't justify paying $20 hazmat plus shipping to try a powder that "might" work. I would like to know, though....
