I just picked up this fine looking carbine(NIB with paperwork) and looking at the sights in relation with the barrel and top of the receiver it looks like the sights are tilted over to the right looking from behind the receiver. So the barrel needs to be turned clockwise in more .Can I correct this at home or should I send it off to Marlin? Cant believe Marlin would allow this to go out .

I'd call Marlin and see what they say. Might save you some money on shipping, too. As for the QC issue, well, it happens. Give them a chance to make it right.

How much is it off by? If only 2-3 degrees that is not at all uncommon. Look at several if you get the chance and you will see this frequently. For practical purposes this is only cosmetic. So long as the extractor and other cuts don't interfer with function it causes no problem. If much over this amount it should go back to the factory.

It may be cosmetic to some, but to me it's a major distraction and accuracy deterent. I'd get it fixed if it was mine.
