Never done this before. Is it as simple as removing the front screw and pulling the forearm off forward or is there more to it than this? Thanks

As long as the wood isn't swelled or the tube rusted - yep.

A little secret is to put some WD 40 inside of the hole for the forearm screw.

Put a old rag inside of the action and jack the forearm forward.

If you have the action closed, it seems that sometimes the wood rubs against the barrel and rubs the blue off a little.

Plus it is hard to hold the rifle and pull on the forearm at the same time.

God only gave me two hands.

You have to make sure to center up the forearm when you tighten it back up or it will rub against the barrel or the reciever and rub the blue off also.

I have no experience with the 7600, generally WD40 and guns don't mix
