On one of my 7600's the magazine snaps into place cleanly and easily. On the other it seems I have to have it just right and even then it locks in but not with the snap of the other 7600. Anybody know what the issue might be? The mag itself makes no difference as I have tried several on each rifle with the same results.

Nice to meet ya Milwroad.
If you have two(or more) of them right in front of you, you are in a much better position than I to figure out the difference. I suggest that you let a gunsmith "have a look" at both/all of them. Money well spent!
I wish you well.

The early clips were all made from steel.

They were stamped and bent and welded by craftsmen that knew their jobs and were hand fitted at the factory to close tolerences.

When the 7600's came out, they were made to replace the Model 6's and 760's that came before them and the bottom line was to make them as cheap as possible.

What I have had to do sometimes to make clips work better is to put them in a padded vise and bend them a little to make them fit better.

If the clip is too wide, it will not register in the gun as good as one that is a little bit smaller.

Sometimes all it takes is about .005 - .010 to make it fit better.

Then again, you want the clip to fit snug and the proper way to put the clip into the gun is to put it into the slot and give it a firm slap with the palm of your hand.

It is better to have a clip that is a little bit tight than to have one that falls out.

Most of mine when they are loaded will fall out of the gun as soon as you hit the release.

Thats just my own personal preference.

Take it to a good gunsmith and have him re adjust it for you to your specifications.
