Has any one out there ever have problems with the feeding of rounds into the chamber on a re-chambered Turkish Mauser? Mine had no problem in extraction and ejection but had a long standing problem with the feeding cycle.

I took the magazine/trigger guard off and did a real good inspection and found that the feeding ramps on both sides were razor sharp and would dig into the cartridge as it was feeding into the chamber.

I placed the rifle upside down in my padded vise and took a really fine file and started in on taking the sharp edge off and slightly rounding the edges.

After about 15 minutes of filing and checking and back again I felt the edges were no longer a "cutting edge" and re-assembled the rifle.

I then tried the feeding cycle and it works slicker than heck.

Has any one else experienced this problem????

Do all the serial numbers on your rifle match?
To answer your question. No, I have not had that problem

Jean1948:

I've done quite a bit of Mauser work and this can be an occasional problem but is not especially common.

The FMJ bullets that the military use are generally a little harder than hunting bullets and I believe it would be an extremely rare rifle that would not feed these.

Happy Shooting!
