I'm new to this forum, I've been shooting and have been around rifles all my 22 years, recently I just purchased a K98/7.92 fmj (Russian captured) and I was wondering if anybody knew of a place i could find out what the ballistics are. I went and shot it at 25 yards and it was shooting about 2 inches high, I tried 100 yards and it shot over the target. the sight was not moved at all when I shot it from 25 and 100. I then went back to 25 yrds and raised the sight to# 2 and it actually raised the rounds to about 5 inches high. So i guess what i'm asking is the rifle already zeroed in at 200yds?
If anybody has experience with the kar98 please let me know thanks.

Most military rifles, especially those with ladder type sights, are sighted in for 300 yds/meters for battle sight conditions. Also, most require a 6 o'clock hold with the front sight blade. Try balancing the target on top of the sight blade and see if that doesn't make a difference.
