I am curious. Why does Smith have a "short" cylinder for the 627 but longer for the other N Frame magnums? Also, anyone have any experience with replacing a 627 cylinder with a longer cylinder to fit the large opening of the N frame? A 686 cylinder is quite longer than a 627.
